Trekking manners

Started trekking as a novice but after doing my BMC I atleast can comment on trekking.

Trekking is not a sport but serious activity which test your metnal as well as physical endurance. ACtivity of walking in Hilly terrain is called trekking.

It can be easy to difficult of any grades. Trekking in Himalaya is especailly considered attractie becasue after going few miles away from civilizatiooon you will getto see view beautiul snow covered mountains.

You can decide level of difficulty after choosig from number of treks avaliable. Some basi things which serious trekker (Trek of more then 2-3 days ) should consider is
  • Sleeping bag
  • Tent
  • Lighter
  • Knife
  • Torch (LED if possible)
  • Basic medication
  • some ration
I will sugggeest making two bags on of very essentail stuff like mentioned above and other of cloting etc for stay. If you like to take photographs then my sugestion will be to buy some camera which use penical cells becasue as go nearer to moutains electricity is not easily avaliable ad lithium ion battery discharges very fast.

Here are some trekkng manners which i like to share with every fellow trekker,
  • Say hello to people coming back/Going to trek (they can provide some imp information of the trek on your way)
  • Respect the culture of villages on the way (Trekking is not possible without their help)
  • Make walking distace between two trekkers
  • Don't judge distance of end point
  • Drink adequate water and replinsh your bottles as soon water is availiable.
  • Ask for slow walkers to move ahead of the group
  • Make your tent/rest place 60-70 meters away from river/water source as animal come in night to drink
  • Read basic information of jungle where you are going to trek
